What is the purpose of a school Site Council?

 

The purpose of the school Site Council is to advise the school on such matters as student learning, education programs, school improvement planning and accreditation issues. The site council also plays an advocacy role for the school regarding the same issues.

 

Who Can Serve on the school Site Council? The site council consists of at least six to twelve members and includes the principal, teachers, other school personnel, parents of students attending the school, and the community.

 

Upcoming Site Council Meetings for the 2026-2027 school year will be October 6th, April 6th, and May 4th.  All meetings are at 4:30 pm at Hillcrest Elementary.  Free childcare is provided upon request.  If you are interested in joining us for a site council meeting, please email our Administrative Assistant, Michelle Hindman, at michelle.hindman@usd497.org.
